Northern League
The Northern League is the oldest and most accomplished independent professional league in the United State. The Northern League has been a part of t Midwest baseball since 1902. 2010 marks the 18th consecutive year that the Northern League has operated as an Independent circuit. The 2010 Northern League season will see the addition of two new teams, The Lake County Fielders and Rockford RiverHawks, along with a 100-game schedule for the first time in league history.
The Northern League continues to be acknowledged as the pre-eminent modern era independent league. In 2008, the Northern League's six teams drew over 3,400 fans per game, as the league continues to routinely out-draw nearly every minor league – affiliated and independent – below the Double-A level.
